My brakes started acting funny after I had the rooters replaced.I have to push them almost to the floor. I then relized that the brake fluid was almost empty. I filled it back up but nothing seemed to change. I've driven it about 10 miles since I filled the fluid. You have a leak in the lines, or the cylinders, or the master cylinder. As a result it ran low on fluid and introduced air in the lines. Adding fluid would do nothing to get rid of the air. It's dangerous to keep driving, you may totally lose your brakes. Take it in, have the leak found and fixed and the system bled.

you have air in the lines and you need to bleed the brakes to get all og the air out. 1st have someone pump the brakes without the engine running when the brake pedal gets hard to push looseing the bleeder valve to let out the air. have the person hold the brake pedal down until you tighting the valve. do this on all 4 wheels then check to see if you have good brakes, if not repeat process until you do. also make sure you dont let the resavoir run out of brake fluidHow long does it take for brake fluid to work?
Brake fluid works immediately, if the brake change has been done properly. Check if there are any leaks (any fluid on the ground where you park your car)..that need to be repaired. Also, it could be the person who changed the brakes did not bleed them to get all the air bubbles out. You should not have to push your brakes all the way to the floor......! -- For what you explained, it must be a leak, check the brake lines, the actual fluid reservoir or the area where the parts where replaced. you have to bleed your brake lines to get the air out of them. have someone to pump the breaks while you open the valve on the rotors then when it goes to the floor tighten the valve and tell them to pump it up again. do this till the air is out. check fluid then go to the other rotor.
