01 mustang. the break light warning turns on and off..why?

the %26quot;break%26quot; light in the dash turns on once in a while, i know it's a warning that something needs to be fixed or is about to break, can someone tell me what it might be for?. also how do you change the brake fluid?01 mustang. the break light warning turns on and off..why?
Brake inspections are free by law in many states. Or it wont be more than 20 dollars at a place like midas. In order to change the brake fluid, you also have to bleed the brake system, which can be hard to regain a solid brake pedal. You most likely have a leak in your brake system somewhere that is allowing air into the system. It could be a bad line, fitting, or master cylinder. You didnt mention if you brake pedal is softer than it should be, that will tell you if something is immediately wrong. I would take it to a shop sooner than later. bad brakes aren't cool01 mustang. the break light warning turns on and off..why?
You are probably low on fluid. 01 mustang. the break light warning turns on and off..why?
first check the fluid and then might need to replace brake pads and really you dont have to replace the fluid just add when low it last for years you will break or wear out something will before you need to replace fluid brakes are easy do at home job in most case few tool are needed not much harder than fixing a flat tire my wife does her own brake jobs easy job once you know how one works you can do any car or truck.. knowing when and how to check them and knowing how to replace them 01 mustang. the break light warning turns on and off..why?
That is a warning light. As long as your brakes seem to be working ok then.... It is also the light that signals that your parking brake is set. I have a problem similar to that. If your parking brake is set by a pedal pull the release lever and push the pedal up, hard then let go and see if that was your problem. I know its dumb for that light to mean two thing but the is the way ford does it. If that doesn't fix your problem get it checked out.

By the way if you have never changed your brake fluid, you should.

It is often overlooked but is just like any other fluid. It breaks down under pressure and needs to be replaced about every 30 to 45 thousand miles. It is quite possibly the most important fluid in your car because you can't stop without it.
