sounds like tour torque converter is shot.

unless its a manual, then it could be your clutch.

take it to a transmission specialistTransmission problems in my 83%26039; dodge.......on a slope even a gentle one when i put it in park sometimes it ?
If its a manual, then your clutch is worn, if its an automatic, then your have a severely worn or damaged parking pawl or carrier in the transmission. Either one required disassembly, and with labor charges, a disassembly is a rebuild, so it kinda depends, but you need to have someone who knows what they are talking about look at it.Transmission problems in my 83%26039; dodge.......on a slope even a gentle one when i put it in park sometimes it ?
automatic? manual????? which one?

if manual it must be the parking break is worn out...replace brake pads in park brake unless it has adjustment then tighten it up til it is tight and holds on a hill

if automatic, then it has serious prblems, go to coastal and get rebuiltTransmission problems in my 83%26039; dodge.......on a slope even a gentle one when i put it in park sometimes it ?
Chrysler had a problem with this on a lot of vehicles. Fluid and filter change will not help with this, the parking pawl is worn. If you don't want to fix the trans. I would suggest putting a Micro lock in, they lock the hydraulic brakes. Transmission problems in my 83%26039; dodge.......on a slope even a gentle one when i put it in park sometimes it ?
its your park pawl, its this little paw shaped thing that grabs onto a tooth on the flexplate and holds on for dear life. when u dont put the emergency brake, all the weight is on that little pawl. so yes it can break, its not a big deal, if you have an emergency break that is
