How much will it cost to get a new brake caliper for the front passenger side brake?

We have an 03 Pontiac Grand AM. The front passenger tire kept squeeling, we thought it needed new brakes, coz it's almost 18 months since we last changed it.

He noticed that the rubber boot in the caliper is damaged and is leaking brake fluid.

So how much would it cost to get a new one installed?

Is this something he can do, or does it have to be done at a shop?

How much would it cost at a shop?

Can we buy the caliper ourselves and bring it to the shop?

Sorry for so many questions. Thanx in advanceHow much will it cost to get a new brake caliper for the front passenger side brake?
Best to have someone that KNOWs how to work on it do it

Or at least make sure the brakes are bleed by a GOOD SHOP after he does the other work !

Get a NEW Caliper... with lifetime warranty at O Reilly's or AutoZone...

I recommend Wangers Caliper ...89.99

They have a cheaper 34.00 one that has Lifetime warranty also .. But I would only put it on if not keeping the car. ((They work)) also replace pads on both sides at the same time... Turn rotors or replace them also since they are only 20.00 each but must be a pair...

Parts 1 caliper 90.00

......... 2 rotors . 40.00

.........Pad Set . 25.00

.................. = ... 155.00

Brake Fluid ... 8.00 for 3

Its easy to replace these parts ....

But Get help bleeding the brakes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT buy a new caliper; you can buy a rebuild kit from an auto parts store for much cheaper, especially if its just a torn boot. How much will it cost to get a new brake caliper for the front passenger side brake?
If you go to auto zone they will sell you the parts and show you how to install them.
